Dedicated to those chasing PRs and podiums, the Speedsters are the performance wing of NewRo Runners.
We meet Tuesday evenings at 6:15 PM at the Eastchester High School track for coached sessions led by Cheryl Broas.
Each workout is structured for results, featuring a deliberate mile warm-up, targeted speedwork intervals, and a communal cool-down. Whether you're a seasoned racer or looking to level up your pace, this is where the work gets done.
The social heart of our club, BRBR brings runners together every Wednesday night at 6:30 PM. We meet at various local bars across Southern Westchester for a five-mile loop where all paces are welcome—no runner is left behind. The mission is simple: five miles of sweat followed by a few brews and good times with the pack. Because we rotate locations, routes and start points are updated weekly on our Instagram feed: @bronx.river.beer.runners.
Trade the pavement for the dirt with the Trail Junkies. We meet Friday mornings at various trailheads along the Leatherstocking Trail, covering technical portions of the historic Paine to Paine race course. Start times vary seasonally with the sunrise to ensure we get the best light on the leaves. All paces are welcome to join the trek; whether you’re training for an ultra or just looking for a scenic start to your weekend, we find our miles in the mud.
The cornerstone of the NewRo Runners week. Our Saturday and Sunday sessions are inclusive, long-form runs that explore the roads and shorelines of Southern Westchester. Designed for building distance in good company, these runs are the perfect entry point for those looking to connect with the full breadth of our community.
